Our Farmyard and Grounds

What makes Farmyard Kids truly unique is our farm-style setting and expansive school grounds, which give children the opportunity to connect with nature and take on meaningful responsibilities each day. Our children care for chickens, horses, goats, fish, and birds in our aviary, developing empathy, responsibility, and respect for living things. Daily tasks include feeding the animals, collecting eggs, and ensuring scraps from meals are shared back with the goats and chickens — turning everyday routines into valuable learning experiences.

The large oval provides space for big movements, running, and group games, while the surrounding grounds offer picnic spots and walking tracks. Younger children often head out in prams for gentle walks, while older groups enjoy exploring and connecting with the natural environment around them.

Our vegetable patch is mainly maintained by the Little Goats Room, with children helping to choose what is planted, caring for crops through every stage of growth, and harvesting the produce. The food is shared with families to take home, and children are encouraged to try different types of fruits and vegetables they have grown themselves. These experiences nurture pride, healthy habits, and a sense of achievement.

Everything about our farmyard and greater environment reflects our values: teaching children care, sustainability, and responsibility in hands-on and meaningful ways.
